The Amazon Code of Conduct

With the reading and recitation of the Code I agree to abide by the Principles of the Amazon Nation.

1. The word "Amazon" is not a joke or a gimmick. An Amazon is any woman trained in the fighting arts who is considered a Warrior. A mother who fights for her child's protection is acting as an Amazon.. A woman who fights back in order to avoid being attacked or raped is an Amazon.. ANY woman who fights for the Greater Good and stands up for what she believes in is an Amazon. Amazons are not a semi-forgotten myth.. for I am one! And I earned the right to call myself one!
2. Amazons are a Sisterhood. Members of Amazon Nation will help one another whenever possible to learn techniques and bond as women. Discussion of techniques are permitted, but unsupervised sparring is not. Once an Amazon has reached the rank of Green Belt (third level) She can spar with another of equal or lower rank. But She and her sparring partner assumes all risk. Amazons beneath Green Belt are not permitted to spar unsupervised (e-camera supervision is permitted during computer class time).

The Oath

I am an Amazon and call myself one proudly. As an Amazon I vow to:

1. Protect my Sisters and the name "Amazon".
2. Foster pride in being a woman and celebrating our strengths as a sex and a People.
3. Respect other beliefs (either social or Religious) and celebrate Diversity.
4. Fight for the Greater Good in all Things.
5. Respect the Founder of Amazon Nation and respect her experience as a Teacher and Leader. This does not mean not to question her, it only means to question with respect and listen to the answer.
6. If a dispute arises between two Amazons, the Founder of Amazon Nation will arbitrate. If the dispute concerns Xena Lorber, an arbitrator that both parties agree to will be chosen to arbitrate.
7. Share my knowledge and experience with others.

Other Terms & Conditions

By giving my name via email and/or signing it and sending this application via the postal service I am stating that the following is true and binding:

1. I am an adult of sound mind and body who recognizes the inherent risks and dangers of self defense and it's practices. (If under age I have been given permission to join Amazon Nation by an adult parent or guardian and that record is on file).
2. I vow never to practice with/on anybody but an experienced and high ranking martial artist with the skills and experience to spar safely.
3. Amazon Nation and it's agents are not responsible for injury including and up to death occurring by me not practicing safe martial arts skills. (Refer to statement number one).
4. I agree to pay the tuition fees for each testing period (12 weeks). Tuition dues are as follows:
   
   • Individual - $50.00 Canadian funds per month
   
   
   • Double (two people signing up at the same time, taking class together) - $45.00 CAN per month per person
   
   
   • Family (up to four people taking class at the same time, having joined and signed up at the same time) - $130.00 CAN per month for the group
   
   
   • Local students who wish to take more than one class per week can schedule extra classes at a $5.00 per class drop in fee.
   Due to the ever-changing international exchange rate for currency, it's imperative that a constant fee be employed, and as local students are charged this amount, so are the Internet Students.
5. Students may pay through paypal or money order. Students from outside Canada must pay through paypal. In exchange for this I will receive the materials needed to advance in the program. Fees are collected before each Rank Testing and initial membership fees must be accepted before any materials are sent to me.

6. When a student has proven themselves dedicated and wishes to continue instruction past Green Belt status they are given the option of paying monthly. This, of course, is $50.00 CAN per month.
7. These fees are not going to change or increase any time in the near future.
8. I understand that the fees enable me to converse via email or postal service with the Founder and Instructor at any time in order to insure my program is tailored to suit my needs.
9. I have read and agree with the Amazon Code of Conduct and agree to it's Principles.
10. I understand that Testing is done via videotape and/or pictures every two months and that it is my responsibility to provide the tape and the postage to send it in. Tapes and pictures will be returned to me in like manner.
